FAQs: Funding your account
Funding for verified accounts can take 3-5 business days for the deposit to appear in your new Santander account.
For details on establishing Direct Deposit, including where to find your routing and account numbers, please review the Setting Up Direct Deposit Guide.
Checks deposited using Mobile Check Deposit are not considered received by Santander until we send you a message confirming that we received your deposit. If Santander receives and accepts a deposit before 10:00 PM ET, then that day will be the day of your deposit. If we receive your mobile check deposit after our 10:00 PM ET cut off time or on a day that is not a business day, we’ll consider the deposit to be made as of the next business day we are open. For more details, please see the Funds Availability Policy in our Personal Deposit Account Agreement.
Checks for deposit must be payable to you, the account holder. Please sign the back of the check and write "For Mobile Deposit Only" under your signature.
Please do not deposit:
- Starter checks (Checks without preprinted name and address)
- Double endorsed checks (Checks endorsed or signed by more than one person)
- Checks older than six months
- Foreign checks (Checks drawn on foreign banks outside of the United States)
For more details, please see your Personal Deposit Account Agreement regarding checks and other types of deposits.
Please fund your account as soon as you are able. If you do not deposit funds into your account and it has a zero balance for six (6) months without any activity, we may close your account.
*Depending on your Santander account type, you may incur a fee for incoming or outgoing wire transfers. Please refer to the applicable Santander Fee Schedule and Personal Deposit Account Agreement for details. A wire transfer involving your account at another bank may incur a separate fee charged by the other bank.
