President and CEO of Santander Bank and Santander Holdings USA
Roman Blanco is President and Chief Executive Officer of Santander Bank and Santander Holdings USA. In this role, he leads all Santander Group's assets in the United States.
He joined Santander in 2004 as Director of Business Development for the America’s division. He was later named Vice President of Banco Santander Banespa in Brazil. In 2007 he was appointed Country Head for Santander in Colombia. He has successfully led Santander Bancorp and Banco Santander Puerto Rico since 2012.
Before joining Santander, Roman worked for 13 years with the consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, where he went on to become a Senior Partner responsible for multiple client engagements and projects within the financial sector.
Roman earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Cantabria in Spain and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He is married with 4 daughters and enjoys cooking and skiing.
