Understanding Your Overdraft Protection Options

Overdraft fees can add up and negatively impact your budget. That's why we offer two ways to protect your account against them:

You can link your savings and money market savings account balances to your checking account to cover any overdrafts.

You can apply for an Overdraft Line of Credit that will automatically transfer money into your account anytime it's overdrawn.

With both options, rather than incurring $35 overdraft fees, you simply pay a $12 Sweep Fee each day a transfer is made to your checking from your savings account or your Overdraft Line of Credit.1

An Example Of How Deposit Account Overdraft Protection Works:

Here's Emily. She opted for Deposit Overdraft Protection by linking her savings account to her checking account. Here's what happens now when she heads out to buy new shoes and pays her utility bill.

Emily's current checking balance is $50, and her savings account balance is $300.

She went shopping and found a great pair of shoes that cost $60. When she went to pay, using her debit card, the $60 transaction was approved, overdrawing her checking account by $10.

The same day, the $75 check she wrote earlier in the week to pay her utility bill came in for processing. The bank paid that transaction, too.
